Laboratory Holds Annual "Outstandingly Un-Excellent" User Awards Ceremony, Honoring Electron Microscopy's "Most Memorable" Contributors

近日，一场别开生面的“年度不优秀用户通报大会”在实验室内部成功举办。

本次活动旨在以轻松诙谐的方式，回顾一年来高分辨率电子显微镜使用中的各类“名场面”，并对其中“表现突出”的用户进行“表彰”，寓教于乐，提醒大家严守操作规范。

本次盛典共设立五大“重量级”奖项，竞争激烈，“佳绩”频出。

In the serious world of scientific research, a touch of humor is like a cup of coffee between experiments—it refreshes the mind and brings people together. A unique "Annual Un-Excellent User Notification Ceremony" was recently held with great success within our lab. The event aimed to lightly review the year's various "memorable moments" in high-resolution electron microscope usage through a playful lens, "honoring" users who have made "remarkable contributions" in their own unique ways. This approach of teaching through entertainment serves as a friendly reminder to everyone to strictly adhere to operational protocols.

The ceremony featured five "prestigious" awards, with fierce competition and "impressive achievements" throughout.

“积分王”——成泽恺  

The "Point Champion" – Zekai CHENG

该奖项旨在表彰在仪器使用扣分体系中“贡献”最为卓著的用户。成泽恺同学以总计１２２分的扣分总量和７次的扣分频率，展现了无与伦比的“稳定性”与“持久性”，其积分远超亚军，达四倍之多，被组委会誉为实验室的“扣分劳模”。其“输出能力”有目共睹，堪称标杆。

This award recognizes the user who has made the most "significant contributions" to the instrument's penalty point system. Cheng Zekai demonstrated unparalleled "consistency" and "endurance," amassing a total of 122 penalty points across 7 separate incidents. His point tally far exceeded that of the runner-up—by a factor of four—earning him the title of the lab's "Dedicated Point Accumulator" from the organizing committee. 

His "output capability" is undeniable, setting a benchmark for all !

“最冤枉奖”——毛承前 

The "Most Unfortunate Award" - Chengqian MAO 

奖项有时不仅关乎“实力”，也关乎“机遇”。本奖项得主，仅仅因跟随刚完成毕业答辩的大师兄前往海底捞庆祝，“实在按捺不住对美食的渴望”，临时操作仪器释放机时，不幸被记录并扣罚２４分。组委会在表示深切同情的同时，也郑重提醒：美食诚可贵，机时价更高；若为规范故，两者皆可抛。

Sometimes an award is about "opportunity" as much as "skill." The recipient of this award, merely for joining a post-defense celebration at a hotpot restaurant with a senior lab member and "succumbing to an irresistible craving," hastily performed an instrument operation to release machine time. This resulted in an unfortunate 24-point penalty. 

While expressing deep sympathy, the committee also solemnly reminds all: food may be precious, but scheduled instrument time is invaluable; if for the sake of protocol, both should be steadfastly guarded.

“最佳新人奖”——赵泽华  

The "Best Newcomer Award" – Zehua ZHAO

长江后浪推前浪，新人总有新气象。赵泽华同学于１２月首次使用电镜便“一鸣惊人”，单次扣分高达２６分，一举刷新实验室单次扣分记录。其“不扣则已，一扣惊人”的非凡气度，令人印象深刻，完美诠释了“最佳新人”的冲击力。扣分原因：芯片携带浮尘未被及时发现。

New waves push the old; newcomers always make a splash. Zhao Zehua made a stunning debut in December, earning a single penalty of 26 points, instantly setting a new lab record for a single infraction. His philosophy of "either no points at all, or a truly astonishing amount" left a deep impression, perfectly embodying the impact a "Best Newcomer" can have. 

Reason for penalty: uncleaned chip with dust particles.

“释放王”——董孝哲

The "Release King" – Xiaozhe DONG

本奖项关注点在于行为频率。董孝哲同学在全年中累计执行释放操作达２４次，其“释放释放释放”的节奏给组委会留下了深刻印象。幸而，绝大多数操作均符合规范，可谓是“在规则的边缘进行了高频试探”，特此授予“释放王”称号以资记录。

This award focuses on behavioral frequency. Dong Xiaozhe executed release operations a remarkable 24 times throughout the year. 

His relentless "release, release, release" rhythm left a lasting impression on the committee. Fortunately, the vast majority of these operations were within protocol, making him a high-frequency tester at the boundaries of the rules, thus earning the title "Release King" for the records.

“有你无忧奖”——李佳烨

The "Worry-Free Guardian Award" – Jiaye LI

在众多“突出表现”中，一股清流显得尤为珍贵。大师姐李佳烨凭借全年最高的机时使用量与最少的操作失误，树立了可靠典范。“天上天下，唯我独尊”的颁奖词，是对其实力与责任心的最高赞誉。江湖中，果然流传着大师姐的传说。

Amidst the many "remarkable performances," a model of reliability shines particularly bright. Senior lab member Li Jiaye, with the highest annual instrument usage hours and the fewest operational errors, has set a stellar example. The award description, "Peerless under heaven, supreme on earth," is the highest praise for her competence and sense of responsibility. 

Indeed, legends of the senior sister circulate in the lab halls.

本届“年度不优秀用户通报大会”在一片欢乐与反思的氛围中落下帷幕。活动组织者表示，科研之路道阻且长，规范的仪器操作是科研数据可靠性的基石。此次以幽默形式进行年终总结，并非为了批评，而是希望所有用户（包括获奖者）都能会心一笑，继而将规范牢记于心，共同维护宝贵的实验资源。
