[publications] Xiong Wei’s paper is online in the RSC journal Polymer Chemistry

Oct. 2019.

Xiong Wei developed a novel photo-responsive polypeptides bearing allyloxyazobenzene side-chains that are modifiable via various approaches. The polymer showed interesting liquid crystalline phase behaviors. Please click the following website and check it out. https://doi.org/10.1039/C9PY01106D

This is a nice collaboration with Prof. Shen Zhihao and Prof. Chen Erqiang within our department.

The paper is included as an invited paper for the special issue 2020 Polymer Chemistry Emerging Investigators.

[Group Activity] Trip to the Road of Heaven in Zhangbei Grassland

July 2019.

Summer is here! The group took a 3-day-trip in the grassland nearby Beijing to celebrate the graduation of Dr. Jingsong Yuan and Dr. Yingqin Hou, who will soon start their postdoctoral research in U.S.A. We will miss them and wish them success in the future!

[PUBLICATIONS] Guangqi published his first research paper in Chemical Communications

June, 2019.

Guangqi developed a series of thermal and redox sensitive selenopolypeptides. Rapid and reversible redox controlled helix-coil transitions are realized. These polymers could be useful biomaterials for many applications. Stay tuned for more fun following works, come soon.

[GROUP ACTIVITY] Camping and Hiking at Yanqing

May, 2019

The Lu group went on a camping trip at Yanqing, ~80 KM north of Beijing city. Apart from the camping experience, we also enjoyed BBQ, beer, and hiking. Please check out the album and find our footprints.

[Publications] Jingsong’s work on sustaible polythioesters is published in JACS

March, 2019.

Biosourced polythioesters open the door to both sustainable production practices and practical recycling, providing a new, green route to optical and photochemical plastics.

[PUBLICATION] Dr. Zhang Chong’s paper published online in Nano Research

Feb. 2019

In this work, regulation of nanoparticle cellular uptake is achieved via the helical conformation and orientation of the anchoring polypeptides. Our results found that the helical polypeptide anchoring its C-terminus to the surface of the nanoparticles gave rise to significantly higher cellular internalization than all other control groups. This is a collaboration work with Prof. Lingdong Sun (PKU) and Prof. Xinghua Shi (Nanoctr). Congratulations to  all of the coauthors!

[PUBLICATION] Yingqin’s work published in ACS Central Science

Jan. 2019

Flexible polymers such as PEG are overwhelmingly preferred for protein drug conjugation. So, helix or coil, which polymer conformation would you choose for protein conjugation? Check the paper out and you may be surprised.

BTW, Yingqin has already published 4 high quality first-author papers and this is definitely not her last one in our group.

Big congratulations to Yingqin and all the coauthors.
